Though having always mentioned her fright of dying at 27 and joining the infamous 27 Club that includes Rolling Stones founder Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrision, and Kurt Cobain, all signs seemed to show that Winehouse who was close to turning 28 would avoid this tragic passing. Unfortunately, reports have now surfaced that Amy Winehouse was found dead earlier today in her London flat.
"Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square NW1 shortly before 16.05hrs today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased.
On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Enquiries continue into the circumstances of the death. At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained."
While the story is still developing, what makes her passing strange is that Winehouse had recently made an appearance at the iTunes Musical Festival stage earlier this week in support of her own artist and while she recently cancelled her European tour, it was believed that Amy was once again seeking the treatment she needed to face her demons.
RIP to a huge loss to the music industry.
