After almost a five years since the release of her landmark sophomore album 21, Adele is back with the lead single "Hello," from her forthcoming third album 25. In true Adele fashion, "Hello" was more than worth the weight and features poignant lyrics and powerhouse vocals from the Queen of British Soul.
With that said, in addition to releasing her new song "Hello" today, Adele dropped the accompanying visual which features Tristan Wilds as her former love interest in the beautifully shot video. It is a beautifully captured video. The vintage feel gives a mood to the subject matter. Visually and vocally Adele is maturely growing and it is sexy. "Hello to the other side..." she says repetitively. There is a longing. There is a drama in the story-telling that adds to the appeal. I would've never expected Tristan Wilds to be in the video to tell the story. He didn't sing which has me wondering how this song would feel if he sung back in response to her. She's saying, Hello, so what would his response be if he could speak back? If there is a second part to this song that would be interesting. Remix or titled differently. There is a confidence I am seeing in Adele and it will surely reflect in the other songs on the album.
