Artist News: "Beyoncé HBO documentary slated for February
February 2013 seems to be the month of Beyoncé as the 16 time Grammy-winner is slated to not only headline the Super Bowl halftime show at the Superdome in New Orleans, but her documentary "Single Ladies" is slated to air on HBO on February 16, 2013. Directed by Beyoncé, the film will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the woman behind the icon.
"HBO has a history of pushing every boundary with class and authenticity," said Beyoncé. "Some of my favorite shows are on HBO, so I am excited that my film will be part of its bold programming. This film was so personal to me, it had to have the right home."
President of HBO Programming Michael Lombardo added, "Everybody knows Beyoncé’s music, but few know Beyoncé the person. Along with electrifying footage of Beyoncé onstage, this unique special looks beyond the glamour to reveal a vibrant, vulnerable, unforgettable woman."
Featuring home videos that chronicle her childhood to showcases who Beyoncé has become in 2012, fans of the famed songstress will get to truly see the burden of stardom and how she balances work with her personal life. Lookout for "Single Ladies," when it airs on HBO on February 16, 2013 and I am sure a trailer or preview will drop sometime during December to increase the already building buzz.
