Album in the Works: "21" (Adele)
Adele's sophomore release "21" will be coming out at the beginning of next year.
Per Billboard.com
U.K. singer/songwriter Adele will release her new album, "21" -- the follow-up to her 2008 breakthrough debut, "19" -- on Feb. 22 in the U.S. and Jan. 24 in the U.K., it was announced today (Nov. 2). The album's first single, "Rolling in the Deep," is due out Jan. 16.
Written and produced by Adele and British producer Paul Epworth, "Rolling in the Deep" is described by the artist as a "dark bluesy gospel disco tune." "21" was recorded in Malibu with Rick Rubin and London with Epworth, who has previously worked with Florence and the Machine, Plan B and Bloc Party. Adele, who won 2009 Grammys for best new artist and best female pop vocal performance, also worked with songwriters and producers including Ryan Tedder, Dan Wilson and Fraser T. Smith, as well as rejoining previous collaborators Francis "Eg" White and Jim Abbiss.
Columbia said "Rolling In The Deep" will head to AC radio stations on Nov. 15 and the video, directed by Sam Brown, will premiere in early December. She will perform the single live on "The Ellen Degeneres Show" on Dec. 3.
