While Miguel is working on his anticipated third studio album, the official followup to 2012's Kaleidoscope Dream, I thought it would be nice to revisit one of his solid live performances of his hit single "Adorn," which took his career to another level.
With that said, roughly two years ago, Miguel dropped by the studios at 102.7 KIIS-FM in Los Angeles to perform an exclusive acoustic version of the hit single "Adorn" off his sophomore album Kaleidoscope Dream. Take a few minutes and check out Miguel's performance of "Adorn" below and lookout for new music from Miguel either towards the end of 2014 or top of 2015 as it's rumored the project is nearing completion.

Back in 2009 while promoting her debut album Fearless in London, Jazmine Sullivan performed a riveting rendition of her joint "Backstabbers." Though it didn't make the final cut for her GRAMMY-nominated debut album, Sullivan's live rendition has me wondering why it never made the final tracklisting.
With that said, take a listen below to Jazmine Sullivan's sublime live rendition of her joint "Backstabbers" and Enjoy!
Back in 2011, Marsha Ambrosius released her debut solo album Late Nights & Early Mornings and one of the standout joints from her LP has to be her rearrangement of the Lauryn Hill penned and original "Lose Myself."
While Lauryn Hill's rendition was featured on Surf's Up (Motion Picture Soundtrack), Ambrosius' smooth silky soulful take of "Lose Myself" is a welcomed cover from Late Nights & Early Mornings.
With that said, take a listen below to Marsha's smooth cut and cover of the Lauryn Hill original "Lose Myself" and Enjoy!
Angel Taylor made some buzz for herself two years ago by appearing on NBC's breakout reality TV hit The Voice and before her time on the show, she was actually signed to Universal Republic and was making her way as a singer/songwriter.
With that said, below you will find a solid interpretation from Angel Taylor of Kings of Leon's "Sex on Fire," which is my favorite song from the group. Peep Angel Taylor's performance of "Sex on Fire" below and Enjoy!
Back in 2008 Marvin Sapp released one of the biggest charting gospel songs in recent history and the song was so huge that it not only peaked at #14 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, but it also crossed over to the Hot 100 and peaked at a respectable 82.
With that said, take a first or hopefully second listen to MarvinSapp's first #1 gospel hit, "Never Would Have Made It" below and Enjoy!

Yesterday, Ariana Grande took over NBC's The Today Show with a mini concert celebratng the release of her sophomore album My Everything and towards the end of her time on The Today Show, Ariana performed her Childish Gambino assisted joint "Break Your Heart Right Back."
While it was unclear if Childish Gambino would make the early am appearance to support Ariana, he did indeed come out towards the middle of the song and he and Ari offered up a solid live performance of "Break Your Heart Right Back," which has an instantly recognizable sample of Diana Ross's "I'm Coming Out."
Peep Ariana and Childish Gambino's performance of "Break Your Heart Right Back" below and Enjoy!
This past thursday on We Tv, the third episode of season two's SWV: Reunited aired and drama amongst the girls disrupts plans of recording new material for their album in Atlanta as Coko decides to take a break from the groups and spend some time with her family.
Steaming from the fact that Taj slept with the A&R of the group's first album, LeLee and Coko feel betrayed that she never shared that information with them. While Coko goes home for a few days, so does LeLee and while in Atlanta, Taj stops by to apologize and share some shocking news about LeLee's daughter.
Once Taja and LeLee mend fences, the duo decide to try recording without Coko with an up-and-coming producer in the ATL in addition to working on some new dance moves to go along with their new sound. DJ Kue and The SNDCLSH have collaborated once again, this time with a remix of the classic Pointer Sisters hit "Automatic." The original Pointer Sisters track first appeared on their seminal album Break Out, released in 1983.
A favorite of Lupe, Sky, and Kue, "Automatic" won the Pointer Sisters a Grammy Award for Best Vocal Arrangement for Two or More Voices in 1985. The SNDCLSH x DJ Kue Automatic Remix is for promotional use only, and is nothing more than a tribute to the widely-loved Pointer Sisters' hit.
The trio of DJ Kue, Lupe, and Sky felt that it was only fitting to drop their homage to this Grammy-Award Winning track, and to the venerated vocal trio, on the first day of Grammy Award week back in 2012. Once a classic, forever a classic.

Ledisi never fails to offer up a phenomenal performance and whenever she touches a cover, she always brings her own into it, which in my opinion takes it to the next level.
With that said, during the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Dedication three year ago, Ledisi let into a spirited performance of the Louis Armstrong classic. So impressed with her take on the song, Stevie Wonder brought her back out to duet with her on "What A Wonderful World" and the two of them really broke it down.
Watch it all go down below and Enjoy!
While Tamar Braxton is hard at work on her forthcoming third album, her sophomore album Love & War still goes in my book and had other singles to offer, such as "Pieces," which I had hoped would've been released as a single.
"Pieces," a solid ballad produced by Bryan-Michael Paul Cox, SCMG, Kendrick A.J. Dean, and Brandon Sewell is one of the numerous standouts on Tamar's LP and during her Love and War Tour, Tamar performed it much to the adoration of her fans.
Therefore, watch her powerhouse performance of "Pieces" below from her show in DC earlier this year and Enjoy!
Back in 2004, Fantasia released her debut album Free Yourself, after winning the third season of American Idol and the title-track, "Free Yourself" which featured Missy Elliott, was released as the fourth single from the set.

Laura Mvula has been making waves in my book since 2012 when her buzz single "She" was released and she's been delivering on "her promise" ever since she released her debut album Sing to the Moon last year.
With that said, Laura took to the stage of Nobu Unplugged live music showcase in London last year and delivered a sublime interpretation of the Michael Jackson classic "Human Nature." Watch her unplugged rendition of "Human Nature" below as we celebrate and honor Michael Jackson's born day.
Today would've been the King of Pop's birthday and so I thought it would be nice to revisit this sublime remix of Michael's joint "Bad" via AfroJack.
In honor of the 25th anniversary release of Michael Jackson's iconic album Bad and it's accompanying title single, Pepsi has requested that several DJs craft a remix of Michael Jackson’s classic 1987 single "Bad."
With that said, Dutch DJ and producer AfroJack created a techno/electronic remix of Jackson's classic in part of Pepsi's "Bad 25th anniversary campaign" earlier this year and you can revisit it by taking a listen to it below!
While I am in the midst of taking my qualifying exams, it feels as though a new day is closer to me than I think and I thought it would be appropriate to revisit Patti LaBelle's single "New Day," which was lifted as the first single from her album Timeless Journey back in 2004.
Written for Patti as a comeback record, who returned with her first new album of songs in four years, it was a minor charted hit for her peaking at number thirty-six on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and number ninety-three on the Billboard Hot 100 marking LaBelle's first appearance on the Hot 100 since 1997.
With that said, take a hopefully second listen below to Patti's "New Day" and Enjoy!

Last night on We TV's breakout hit reality show Braxton Family Values, the ladies met with their mother to discuss how the sister's retreat went and of course tension ran a little high as Tamar felt left out of the group once again for missing the team building exercises.
In addition to their lunch, the ladies head to Jamaica to support Toni who is headlining the jazz festival there and talks of the sister's album continue amidst the drama of the sisterhood. Tamar still feels ostracized from her sisters a bit and talks to her mama about what's going on. Watch all of this go down and more below during the latest episode of Braxton Family Values and Enjoy!

Earlier tonight, the telecast of Ariana Grande's iHeart Radio concert on the Honda Stage aired much to the adoration of her fans and Ariana kicked off the concert with a rousing performance of her new single "Break Free," which is the second official single lifted from My Everything.
While her set was rather short in my opinion, though beggars can't be choosers, Ariana blasted off with yet another rousing performance of "Break Free," which has me wondering when her tour will be announced because he's been nailing it all over with these live performances.
With that said, take a few minutes and enjoy her phenomenal performance of "Break Free" from iHeart Radio and if you haven't picked up her debut album My Everything, it's in stores now!
Last night on TV One, the seventh episode of R&B Divas: Los Angeles aired and during last night's episode the divas were in the studio working full-speed-ahead on their Puerto Rico project song with the assistance of Warryn Campbell.
Everything seemed to be going smoothly until Chanté Moore realized that she was going to be the only 'diva' without a lead vocal. Lil mo alluded to it during the episode, but maybe karma was coming back to bite Chanté as she bamboozled the ladies a few weeks ago into recording a song with her, where they were all background vocalists. Either way, Warryn attempts to fix the issue amidst a final recording session.
In addition, Michel'le has a performance in San Diego that the promoter seems to be dealing a little dirty, and Chanté gives us a glimpse into her personal life as she goes on a date with her current boo. Watch all that and more on the latest episode of R&B Divas: Los Angeles and Enjoy!
Last year during BET's Celebration of Gospel, a very pregnant Tamar Braxton took to the stage to perform the classic Walter Hawkins penned "Be Grateful." Armed with just her powerful voice and a jazzier arrangement of the gospel classic, Tamar brought and felt the spirit that night.
With that said, take a few minutes below and get soaked up in the word via Tamar's phenomenal performance of "Be Grateful" and Enjoy!
Back in 1994, Chaka Khan joined Fourplay onstage for a sublime cover of The Isley Brothers' classic hit "Between The Sheets" during An Evening of Fourplay.
With that said, Chaka Khan is of course in rare form crooning and cooing effortlessly along with Fourplay, Philip Bailey, and Phil Perry. Watch these legends lay it out on the stage during their phenomenal interpretation of "Between The Sheets" after the jump and Enjoy!
Back in 2004, Fantasia released an amazing cover of the classic "Always On My Mind." Retitled "You Were Always On My Mind" from Fantasia's debut album Free Yourself, it is a standout gem on her album and when performed live by the soulful songstress, it truly becomes a gospel-tinged testament.
With that said, take a few minutes and soak up the testimony that Fantasia has to offer on "You Were Always On My Mind" and hopefully we will be hearing about some new music and/or a tour soon cause Fantasia and music belong together in my book!
The song that Maysa is probably known the best for, or at least in my book, is the smooth joint "Hypnotic Love."
Lifted from her album Smooth Sailing, this is the song that introduced me to Maysa and is one of those smooth jam cuts that one shouldn't forget about. With that said, take a listen below to "Hypnotic Love" and Enjoy!

Earlier tonight, Ariana Grande stopped by NBC's American's Got Talent to perform her latest single "Break Free" in support of her just released sophomore album My Everything and the young powerhouse diva own the stage at Radio City Music Hall.
Fresh off of a successful VMAs opening act slot, the promo for My Everything has actually seemed minimal to me, at least compared to her debut album. Either way you feel, her latest album is packing a punch on the charts and offers some of Ariana's best vocals today. With that said, watch her solid performance from American's Got Talent below and Enjoy!
Originally released in 1979 under the tutelage of Motown Diva Ms. Diana Ross, "The Boss" was crafted by famed songwriting duo Ashford and Simpson and would go onto peaked at #19 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #12 on the Hot Soul Singles chart. Fast-forward to 1996 and The Braxtons' reinvested the thumping Motown disco joint for a new generate off of their So Many Ways LP. With that said, take a listen after the jump to their sublime remake of "The Boss" and Enjoy!
Was revisiting Jennifer Hudson's discography last night as I get ready for her forthcoming third album JHUD and during my relistening, I rediscovered Jennifer Hudson's "We Gon' Fight," which is lifted from her Grammy-winning self-titled debut album Jennifer Hudson.
While it didn't receive the single's treatment, "We Gon' Fight" is a dope record from Hudson that really shows off the power and emotive capability of her pipes. With that said, take a listen after the jump to Jennifer's cut "We Gon' Fight" and Enjoy!
Was reminiscing last night about how one of the highlights for me musically of 2013 was when I had the pleasure of seeing Erykah Badu live in Detroit and one of the most riveting moments of her set was her rousing performance of her cut "I Want You."
Lifted from her third studio album Worldwide Underground, "I Want You" was never released as a single from the album but proves to be one of the most riveting moments of a Badu show as I've seen her perform it multiple times with the same enthralling reaction from the crowd.
Crafted by Badu, Audrey Magett, James Poyser, and B. Rashad Smith, we can all (re)visit E.Badu's classic cut "I Want You" below!
Selected as the second single from Ledisi's latest album The Truth, "Like This" is a sublime mid-tempo from Led and why her label hasn't officially released it as a single through pushing it to radio and releasing the music video is a mystery to me.
With that said, I was revisiting some clips from her Los Angeles tour stop, which I was at, and of course Ledisi brought the house down with the assistance of her phenomenal band and background singers. Therefore as we await the official release of "Like This," take some time and watch Ledisi's riveting performance of it below.

You can't find a bad Luther Vandross performance, it is just impossible as Luther is a vocal master with the ability and depth to continually find something new and different with each performance of his classic hits.
With that said, Luther's performance at the NAACP Image Awards of "A House Is Not A Home" is one of his most, if not most legendary performances on video as the then young crooner gives veterans and peers in the industry a singing 101 lesson. Watch his iconic performance below and Enjoy!
Kem released his latest album Promise To Love this week and to lead the set, "It's You" was selected as the single to usher Kem back to radio after being gone for a moment.
"Although I've been signed to Motown Records since 2002, I feel "It's You" is the first song I've crafted that truly embodies the essence of what we have to come to know as the 'Motown Sound', explained Kem. "If The Temptations were making music for today's R&B audience, this is what it might sound like. As for what it's about, the brother is in love, and he knows where home is. It's You!."
With that said, the official music video to "It's You" has hit the net to help build support for the single as well as Kem's fourth album Promise To Love. Therefore, take a few minutes and watch Kem's latest video below!
Earlier this summer at Rock in Rio, Jessie J performed a rousing set and offered a new joint to the crowd entitled "Sweet Talker." While it is now known that Sweet Talker is the tile of Jessie J's forthcoming third album due October 14th via Republic Records.
With that said, take a few minutes below to get into Jessie J's sublime performance of her mid-tempo banger "Sweet Talker" below and hopefully this will become the official second single from her upcoming album as it really is a winner in my book.
Am I the only one that thinks American Idol needs to do an all-star season of some of the season's top talent to help raise the profile of some of the slept on talent from the hit reality show? Well if it was to ever come to fruition, Latoya London and Tamyra Gray would be two of the singers I would want to be involved.
With that said, back in 2005, Latoya London release her debut album Love & Life and the final track on her debut project was her stirring rendition of the Eric Carmen classic "All By Myself."
Having performed a riveting cover of "All By Myself" on the third season of American Idol, London's recorded interpretation is just as phenomenal and warrants a few listens as she knocks it out the park.
With that said, take a listen below to Latoya's sublime cover of the Eric Carmen classic joint "All By Myself" and Enjoy!
Back in 1988, Luther Vandross released his sixth studio album Any Love and the title-track "Any Love," which was co-written by Vandross and Marcus Miller would go onto become Luther's fourth #1 single on the then Billhoard Hot Black Singles chart while peaking at #44 on the Hot 100.
In addition to scoring Luther his fourth #1, the song was nominated for two Grammys at the 1989 Grammy Awards including Best R&B Song as well as Best Vocal Performance, Male. With that said, take a listen below to Luther's cut "Any Love" and Enjoy!

I don't know about you, but I've been in a bit of a funk with all that is occurring in Ferguson, MO and while my heart hurts, I thought it would be appropriate to watch Jill Scott's riveting performance of her torch ballad "Hear My Call" from her appearance on BET's Sunday Best from back in 2012.
Offering an even better performance, in my opinion, than her recorded version on, The Light of The Sun, Scott is one of those rare talents in the industry that is always better live than on record. Armed with just her voice, emotions, and a talented accompanist, Jill glides over this powerful opus of truth to craft a touching and haunting performance of "Hear My Call."
Watch her off the charts performance below and Enjoy!
Been getting back into Rebecca Ferguson as of late and while she has yet to officially release her sophomore album Freedom here in the States, she did release a new song this year, "Light On" overseas.
A powerful ballad, the instrumentation on "Light On" fits Rebecca's powerhouse husky vocals perfectly and allows her best asset, her vocal prowess take center stage. Written by Alexander Geringas and Nikki Leonti and produced by Geringas, it was released at the tail end of 2013 in German and is such an underrated gem in my book.
Take a listen to "Light On" below and Enjoy!
While people remember Whitney Houston's powerhouse rendition of the Four Tops' "I Believe In You and Me" as well as her thumping single "Step by Step" from The Preacher's Wife soundtrack, people often forget the beauty and wonder of Houston's rendition of the Richard Smallwood classic "I Love The Lord."
While the album went onto become the highest selling Gospel soundtrack of all time, selling roughly 6 million copies worldwide, it is a testament to Whitney's faith that she helped bring the word to the masses. Whitney was truly a child of the lord, who blessed her with that angelic voice and allowed us to all take comfort and joy in her god given ability.
With that said, take a second listen below to her sublime performance of "I Love The Lord" and Enjoy!
Michael Jackson is one of those artists that has put a stamp on his music, which makes it so hard for people to cover it in my opinion and therefore very few should ever attempt. With that said, Jessie J is an exception to this in my book, especially after listening to her sublime BBC Radio 1 cover of Michael's classic 1979 hit "Rock With You."
Originally lifted as the second single from Michael Jackson's Off The Wall back in 1979, it reached number one on both the Billboard pop and R&B singles charts and according to Billboard, was the fourth biggest single of 1980. With that said, take a listen below to Jessie J's sublime stripped-down/acoustic rendition of "Rock With You" and Enjoy!
A few days late on the latest episode of We TV's hit reality show SWV: Reunited about the rebuilding of the legendary 90s R&B trio, but as I say, better late than never.
With that said, on the latest episode of SWV: Reunited, the ladies are in NYC getting ready to work on their forthcoming album and while in NYC, they go to group therapy, revisit their old hoods, reveal some potential troubling pasts that could potentially unsettle the group's comeback, as well as a whole lot more.
With that said, watch the second episode of season two for SWV: Reunited below and Enjoy!
