Back in 2001 shortly before 9/11, a group of the music industry's top popular acts all gathered together under the name "Artists Against AIDS Worldwide" to record a remake of the Marvin Gaye classic "What's Going On" in order to help raise money for to benefit AIDS programs in Africa.
Released shortly after 9/11, the song gained new meaning to a younger generation and a portion of the proceeds from this remake went to the United Ways' 9/11 fund. With today being the 12th anniversary of the tragic attack, I thought it would be meaningful to use the Artists Against AIDS Worldwide cover of Gaye's classic "What's Going On" as the amazing cover of the day!
